Oh. My. Goodness. The past 24 hours of my life have been one insane roller coaster! I woke up yesterday morning and I could literally feel the attacks from Satan. I can't fully explain it except that I felt it. I could tell he was attacking my mind and it was the craziest thing I have ever felt. But, I knew why he was attacking. It was Friday so that means visiting Kurawura kuraa (I LOVE THIS VILLAGE) and he knows its going to be won for Christ. So he was very intensely attacking me. So I was just praying the whole way to the village for God to keep me strong and to keep Satan away while I tell my story. And of course God answers prayers! The children listened so intently and remembered things from last weeks story! It was phenomenal! And by the time I was done telling the story, there were 65 children, a dozen or so teenagers and a dozen or so adults... Do the math people! That's almost 100 people hearing Bible stories! Hallelujah and Praise the Lord! It was crazy! And so amazing! Once the story was done I had enough time to play a game, so I taught them how to play Duck, Duck, Goose and let me tell you. It was the most insane game of Duck, Duck, Goose I have ever played. There were 65 children in the circle! I mean! So crazy to have to run around that! hahahaha! But, so much fun! The children just laughed and laughed! And when they came close to me I of course always got picked! haha! So much fun! They are just a blast!
After this village I went home and got to talk to one of my best friends. Courtney List. And in case some of you don't know this girl has played a huge role in my life. She convinced me to go to Haiti, told me about South Africa, and even made me realize that I was supposed to spend last summer in Atlanta. Oh, and btw, she introduced me to Ryan... NBD. (That's obviously a lie, its a big deal) So anyway, I got to share with her about my ministry here and just shared with her some ways that Satan had been attacking. At the end of our conversation she told me that she was glad to hear that I was being attacked because it meant I was doing something right. And that reminded me of one of my favorite Scriptures. Acts 5:41-The Apostles left the Sanhedrin rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. Now, I understand that Satan attacking and the persecution the Apostles were facing are different. But, its the same principal, when Satan's working hard. That means God is working as well. And as my friend Courtney said. God always wins. I say, dang right he does! hahaha!
So then, this morning I wake up and I get ready to go to Alhassan kuraa and Kadelso. First up was Alhassan kuraa and the children came running up when they saw Amy, Joseph, and I pull up! And that just excites! And within 5 minutes word at spread around the village that I was here and they just came running! AHHH! It was so awesome. And many of them were new faces. There were even some Fulani women in the back standing and listening. I almost cried tears of joy. I was so happy and the telling of the story went great! We were passing out candy and singing songs and a man came up to me and asked why a little girl didn't receive candy and I told him that the candy was finished and I would bring some next time I came... Well, silly me I didn't know he was the chief. I mean, he looked like any other man in the village how was I suppose to know he was the chief. So, anyway, he grabbed Joseph and asked Joseph if he could have a word with me. He did not look very happy at all. So Joseph and I went to the chief's house and we sat down and he said he was going to fight me and I was what? and he again said I'm going to fight you and I said I am very sorry if I have offended you. I did not know what I did. Well, come to find out this man's ego is HUGE. He was mad that I had been to the village twice and did not see him. Well, Joseph and I said that we had tried and that he was not around and he understood that. He also said that he is not an ordinary man, he is a man of dignity, if I saw his cattle I would marvel at it. He has a home in Kintampo and a home here in Alhassan kuraa. He just came to his home here to relax and then he finds out that I was here and he didn't know. He also told me that in the States it is the same thing, that there are men in charge of villages that need to know what is going on. (I should have told him that father is the chief of my village) hahaha! I will get my chance to tell him I am sure. haha! But, he also said that it is ok that I come and keep coming. I just need to stop by his house and tell him when I am there. This just proves that when someone gets a little bit of power it goes to their head. I mean. Ridiculous. haha. But, its ok cause I got all the permission I needed and there shouldn't be anymore obstacles.
At my last village, Kadelso, there was an insane mob of people! haha! There was a luncheon in the village for an organization of some sort and because they had already had tons of children gathered they saw me coming and that was enough ALL of the children came to storytelling. There were so many I couldn't even do a head count. It was crazy! haha! And so, there were also many adults there as well. Which was very cool for them to hear the story. Some are there because they want something from me, actually most are probably there because they want something from me. But, they are there nonetheless and they are hearing God's Word. So again, no complaints! Except that it is impossible to pass candy out to that village. It gets so insane, Joseph just throws the two boxes of candy in different directions and lets them go get it. hahaha! Its crazy, but its all you can do sometimes! haha!
But, all in all, I am loving these villages. Its so amazing to see people soak in the Word and see their hunger for more! Its a blessing. God continues to bless me here and bless the people I work with! So awesome! Thanks for all your support and prayers! They are appreciated and needed! Much love! Eborye naffa benye! (God bless you all) Me sha benya (I love you all)
